Any news about delivery quantity locations and dates? In Paris two days ago, I would have been 16th on the list if I had put down a thousand euro.

At one Asian dealer, I'd be about #400 on their wait list.

I'm told at a Canadian dealer, I might get one by mid-Oct.

I'm not holding my breath.

So I just bought 200 rolls of 35mm film instead, and I want to buy maybe 50 rolls each of 120 and 220 film.

It seems to be spreading beyond Paris. Dealers are ordering M9s only when they have a customer order with money down. Are they running scared of an M9.2 ?

I put a deposit at a Leica dealer in Paris on 09/09. I am #1 on their list and no M9 yet though I was initially told end of September. It seems that a big first shipment is coming mid october at several dealers.
Find it funny to know people in Arizona, New Zealand and Vancouver already got theirs and Paris basically none.
When US tech companies release new products, Europe gets it last.
When it is Japanese companies, we also get it last.
So now even when it is a new European made product, we get it last.
But well, at least food is great here, can't complain ;)

Well in my case I paid the full amount 3 weeks ago with UK dealer, and no news by now and probably by end of October if not longer. Also I did found out that out of 40 orders only 7 have deposit paid.

My local shop here in NZ sold their first two on the day they arrived. They expect more next week. Why would they be here in little old NZ and not in Paris? The tail must be wagging the dog. I was glad they were gone so I wasn't tempted, still love my M8.

My local shop has one on order that I hope to look at before it's sold. They will sell it here I think, though they struggled with a 5D a couple of years ago. Still there's less dicounting of the M9 at present.

Wow, I ordered 09/09/09 and I will get the first silver M9 into Australia (for sale, excluding Leica demo's) sometime in mid November.

There is one demo unit here in Zurich, first shipments expected in this month. Was in touch with Robert White who indicated a wait of several months if ordering now.

Depends on when you ordered, I suppose. I quote from their email to me on
Sept 25:

"Leica UK are delivering M9 cameras to us at one to three a week"

"We would be pleased to add your name to our list but we cannot say when you will have stock - it could be several months"

but they did say pre-payment in full would move someone up the list.

I made my order on 18 Sept. and paid in full getting to number 7 on the list. Last time when I spoke with them two days ago I was told that they didn’t receive single unit and still don’t know when Leica will deliver. My problem is that nobody knows when ?? I don’t get it, doesn’t Leica has a production plan, list of dealers who is getting and when according to it ? Or at least an estimate. Imagine going to buy any other product and the seller tells you “thank you for your money, but we don’t know when will we deliver”.

This did happen when I ordered my Ducati a few years back.

There were times when you had waiting lists of two years when ordering a Benz or specific BMW. After the Z8 was released it was more expensive used than new.

Expect an M9 price increase beginning of next year.

On the other hand there seems to be a number of problems with the early production of M9 cameras. Maybe, just maybe it’s better to have your camera delivered later once most of the problems are sorted out.

I had not heard about early problems. What?
