M9 brochure up... or not

Another quote from the brochure, this time regarding M9 lens compatibility:

"Compatibility as a Matter of Principle

Of course the Leica M9 offers photographers access to the complete Leica M lens system lenses, long acclaimed by experts and users as the best in the world. (snip historical stuff) The high-resolution, full-format image sensor of the M9 fully exploits the performance of legendary Leica lenses from corner to corner."

EDIT - I found a lot more about this, but I'm sick of typing. See the brochure!

Guys, I was the one who uploaded the M9 microsite link on LUF ... and Andreas has banned me untill 9.9.9 1700 hrs because of that.

Friends at LUF, I will miss you and so will you - remember I was the one who had broken the news of availability of the photo on Flickr of M9 and X1 [the latter no one had imagined or speculated about] and also the wrapped photo of M9 yesterday.

But I can assure everyone that I did not upload any of the original materials - it was all available on the net for anyone to access. So, why punish me?

Please request Andreas to lift the ban.

I will hang out here, unless RFF too bans me :(
I feel so depressed.

Everything that showed up on LUF: microsite, brochure and technical data links, including some photos.

And I have been punished because of that:bang:

Well what do you expect? Someone at Leica may lost their job over that....but thanks anyway, I downloaded it, I wish I could get one..:)

I don't think the information available was that serious or confidential. it's just a product brochure of something that one else produces - a digital RF.

If someone loses job because of that then it will be very silly.

But it contains the spec they want to publish on 9/9

Wasn't Andy one of the ones vehemently against perceived censorship when he was here? Or is my memory faulty...

At LUF they are still trying to ban all the news from their site, silly. Thank you Leica007, stupid that you were banned, I guess they do not want any real news about the M9...

a lot of these "leaks" are actually intelligently planned and controlled, are they not? I mean a mock-up here, a photo or video or ad there, a brochure a few days ahead of time, how is all the attention generated not a good thing for Leica?

Too much detailed information makes the big event obsolete. The spec is out of the door. Too bad for them.

That is what I think too, I mean, what else is going to hit the shelves on "999"? But at the same time, Leica has taken a beating over the M8, I kind of feel bad, they deserved to open the proverbial front door to the party rather than have people sneak in the back.

One thing is for sure, if this thing hits the shelves without a hitch and has decent high ISO....and is not over $7,000 U.S., it will fly out the door.

I'm surprised at the photos they used in the brochure. Blown highlights all over the place.

Also the pictures look "post-processed" in their colours, not very natural looking. Understandable for a photographer's preferred "look", but not really representative of natural colours that a camera manufacturer would usually be promoting?
