M9 control wheel/central setting dial problem

Guys, my wheel has stopped functioning properly. It barely works, or if it does it's all over the place. Anyone else experienced this, or better yet, have a remedy?

I've reinstalled the firmware twice, removed the battery and memory card and turned the wheel many times in both directions incase there was dirt inside - all with no success.

Any advice would be appreciated as I'd do anything to avoid sending it away on a European trip for months.

I don't know what could be wrong, but perhaps they can fix it at Leica in Allendale, New Jersey, so a longer trip to Europe might be avoided. Good luck.
