Doesn't quite help when you have mediocre images. Not sure how these testers were chosen.

That's fine. I've been called that so many times when I just speak out the truth while most people don't want to. I like the images on the official monochrome site. They look fake but at least there's a distinct aesthetics and style. But these test images are the same you see on DPReview.

Liked the fellow's photos, though they were long in the grayscale for me.

Nice to see Leica finally outdo the RD1 in the high ISO department.

but most of the photos on the leicamonochrom.com are from dpreview, so suddenly you think the same photos are better because it's coming from the "more prestige" website
. If the tester's photos are posted on official leicamonochrom , you may say it's awesome.

I was talking about the sample shots up to the 6th one. Actually I didn't even see the rest until you mentioned them now. I don't know who shot the first 6 but I am saying this objectively.
If you think this particular tester's shots are Magnum quality, then sure, that's your taste and I cannot argue against it. But I hope more people can actually speak out their true opinions, instead of just politely padding on each other's back like we always see on the internet.

To my eye, the images have a lot of greys. And don't look like they've been processed. I'd think with the included software you could change the curve a bit to get some richer looking images. It is nice to have the flat curve to play with, though I'd make the blacks more punchy.

Yes, I love that flat grey too. You can always make it more contrasty if you want to.

There is a gallery on the site with lots of photos taken with the camera.

I'm impressed by the range of greys. Very nice rendering.

Agree. Pretty flat / low contrast shots. I´m sure there is more in them with the right post processing.
Interesting to read that the M9M was in the hands of selected bloggers since two weeks or so.
Steve Huff sounds a bit "huffy" about it... hehe...

Sadly, Leica did not give me a camera to test (though I am the largest Leica review site on the internet)

How very sad but Huff the Largest can still purchase the camera and write on it

Hi, Trung!
These days, I answer to just about anything!!!
After yesterday, I am happy to have watched a Leica event as it is interesting at the least to see what they did NOT reveal about their future direction with products.
I think the monochrome is a fine way to move forward and I can see one in my future down the road if I win the lottery! But, the M3 will certainly suffice for a long time.
Can't wait to see some really nice photos from this camera, but at least the write-up gave more information than was available yesterday from most sources.

Very lousy digital tourist pictures.
Yes, but they would have looked sooooo much better in colour!
