Bought a new battery for my m9 proper Leica one from a main dealer, it's only a few weeks old lucky if it's been charged five times. Charged it today at around 30% once I had both lights solid on my charger tried it in the camera still reads 30%.
If I didn't know better I'd say it wasn't a Leica battery.

I'd run it to empty and try again.
I rotate 2 batteries and usually charge them when they get to 75%.

That's what I reckoned I'm going to run it down to 2.5v ish and then charge it again, I read that if you press the set button when the battery warning appears this calibrates battery?

Battery fully charged but only showing 15% ish and brings on warning text, my other batteries are ok so I think faulty battery. But what I did notice packaging for M8 surely it should say at least M9 or even ME old stock?
Has anyone bought a battery recently can you check the box please.

It worked!
back to 100%
left camera on with auto off off until camera would not do anything just showed battery warning text, even though the battery still had 3.8v then charged. interestingly when I first put the battery in it did show warning text for a few seconds until it seemed to calibrate. One thing i've learned from this it seems that if you want to re-calibrate battery you have to run it down in the camera. I think I will do this with my older Leica batteries as the are still showing well over 4v when charged but only showing a few percent when in the camera.

Ignore that pretty sure its the battery after all, worked once but then wouldn't re-calibrate the next time, bought in January I wonder how long Leica battery warranty is?

I had a somewhat similar problem that I described in the Leica Forum. Someone suggested i snap a few pics and the low battery message disappeared and the Info screen indicated 100%.

I had one battery that would show 100% after charging and then would give a low battery warning at about 75%. After various attempts to recalibrate I gave up while my M9 was having a new.sensor and monochrom being checked by Leica. When I tried it again it had swelled and no longer fitted correctly. I put it down to being airfreight in its early life.l and threw it away.

I got the battery replaced and the camera and new battery worked fine afterwards, the nice new battery is sitting in a drawer while my m9 is back in Germany !
