The M9 is a sure bet for me, but the tax man comes first this April for me. Essentially that (taxes) is the only thing delaying me in my purchase.

I will bet I am not the only one waiting until Uncle Sam is SASSIFIED (to borrow a word from I song I really love) and only then can an M9 be purchased.

Who here will deal with the tax man first and then buy the M9?

I don't think my return will cover the $7000 entry price.... unless I sell *all* my gear and don't pay mortgage for two months.

But I'm sure there are plenty of dentists, attorneys, and other high-income RFFers that'll dip into their funds for the '9.

In Hong Kong the supply is so-o-o-o-o low, that the price of admission is ~US$9,000.

I'm definitely waiting for supply to exceed demand and prices fall back down to list or below. Sure FF is nice as well as the (moderately/slightly) improved ISO, however, can't say I see it "that much better" for me to run out and grab one. DSLR ISO is still miles ahead. Heck, I'm thinking I may wait for the M10...

Yes FF digital is nice, but I've still got & more importantly still using my trusty M6 and Bessa R3A. I'm even kicking around the idea of getting a used Zeiss Ikon for $1,000, just for fun.

I doubt it. If you have that kind of money then you have it regardless of the the man (with a few exceptions of course) right now there is a huge back order problem so I don't think too many people who really want it are waiting...

In the UK now is the time to buy an M9, because come May after the General Election we are going to be screwed big time in general tax increases and VAT increases. I got mine now, because I doubt I would be brave enough this time next year. You may want to look ahead to what Uncle Sam is likely to want from you over the next two years rather than look at your tax return for this year. The long term is the scary scenario around the world as we start to pay for bailing out banks, because as things stand none of us has been given the bill for it yet.Steve

holding off on ordering an M9 until I find that winning Lotto ticket I left in jacket pocket somewhere. just need to remember which jacket, then we'll be all set. the only thing between me and that camera is a few million extra dollars to top off my retirement fund.

As my 6 year old said back in 1970,I am old. My wife and I were talking, saying we could not afford it. She said you do not have to pay for it, just charge it. Little did she know what that means.

I'm going to invest the money in some serious travel - instead!....members are suddenly 'disappearing' here, it's time to enjoy life more - with the kit that's already in the bag.....and paid for!
Dave.

I love leica's, but the Nikon D3s - high iso is the one for me right now, until the M10 comes out with higher ISO. I only shoot available light photography.
