I was cleaning the sensor in my M9, using a rocket blower plus the special liquid cleaner. I still had some dust spots that seemed to stay on the sensor.

Then I noticed an air purifier in the room, hearing the sound of filtered air, so I got the idea of holding the sensor towards the blowing air, holding the M9 upside down.

It worked. Dust is gone.
Is anyone here who has used this method?

Never tried it but I have a couple stubborn dust spots on my M9 so I may have to give it a try. In the past I have always resorted to a PEC pad.

Any idea why it worked?

Haven't used your method simply because I don't have an air purifier however previously using a conventional rocket blower I too failed to remove all dust. I then acquired a Visible Dust anti- static blower and bingo, all dust removed. For real stubborn spots I use the Visible Dust pads and wet cleaner.

This is on my M240 with arrived in a shocking condition being absolutely awash with sensor dust. Clean as a whistle now and a weekly blow out keeps it so.

It could be that when only dust remains, having lots of air getting blown all over the sensor works well in removing dust. The filtered air is clean.

What was the cost of the anti static blower?
