Can someone please explain how to use this lens with this camera? I love the SA with film but with the M9, the purple colour shift in the corners and vignetting is awful. Im using LR to try and correct some of this with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

Install "cornerfix" and create a profile for that lens.

I'm a GIMP user and I created a negative mask for three different focusing distances (since the vignetting changes severity with distance) and simply overlaid it on images I wanted to keep.

Or just use it in black and white.

This is bothersome. I do not like the idea of having to use some software to improve the edges.

There's a plugin for LR that addresses colour shift and vignetting you can use. The Adobe DNG Flat Field plug-in is a free download here You'll need to shoot raw/ DNG to use it, and you'll need something like the Capture Integration Pocket LCC plastic diffuser card. There's instructions on the Adobe Labs page linked above on how to go about it.

I've found it works really well with CV 15 and 25 lenses on the M9, which were both much worse on it than on the M8. The other thing is to find the best lens profile to set in the camera. For both my wides the "21 f/2.8 11134" lens recognition setting seems to work best and gets rid of almost all the purple stuff from the 24, but YMMV so try a few and see which is best for your SA

Good luck with it. It's bothersome, but worth persevering!
