I took some photos during sunset at Pensacola Beach yesterday. My daughter Dana accompanied me, which has become a rare event as teenagers get busy with life.

The old SLR lens is RF coupled, and I used with it a lens hood. I left the images AS IS other than converting DNG to JPG. For the B&W versions, I used Perfect _Effects_( to get a Tri-X 400 rendition.

I need to do some extra fine-tuimg for each image, so this is a first step here to show the results directly from the camera (for color).

The face of the man came out this red during the sunset!

Leica + Takumar, I feel like I’m in good company here.

Raid, if you like the 35mm focal length, try the M42 Takumar 35/3.5. One of my all time favorite lenses, easily scale focused, ridiculously inexpensive. I own 4 copies of it.

I have this lens! It is sharp and flare resistant. I own one copy ...

Nice. I prefer the Takumar rendering to Leitz in many instances.

I'm on the hunt for the K-Mount 35/2. They are a bit difficult to find, but from what I've seen, the images are gorgeous.

Thanks for sharing the images, always fun to see someone traveling the unconventional route.

I know that I have the M42 mount SMC 35/2. Is it a lot different from the K mount version?

There were quite a few different optical versions of the Pentax 35/f2.

- Super Takumar 35/f2 (early) - 8/7 - Unique
- Super Takumar/S-M-C Takumar 35/f2 (late) - 8/7 - Similar to below.
- SMC Pentax 35/f2 - 8/7 - Similar to above. Probably the best performer.
- SMC Pentax-M 35/f2 - 7/7 - Very similar to below. Very compact.
- SMC Pentax-A 35/f2 - 7/7 - Very similar to above. Very compact.

I seem to own the “best performer.”
It is the 35/2 before the M or A.

I've got one of those too Raid. Roland sent me a piece of the tube he had left over. It was pretty simple to shape it down. It has been my standard 50 now for 7 years. As good as anything you can put on a Leica for a 1.4. Only downside is it focusses backwards...
