After the beach stop, we drove downtown to Joe Patti's Seafood.

I have added 43 new images this morning. I took these photos at Pensacola Beach a few days ago with the M9 and the Pentax-M 50/1.4. I uploaded the DNG files to LR5, and then without any modifications, I converted the files to jpg files and I post them here. Overall, The Pentax-M does very well with the M9. This lens is well known as an SLR lens to be an excellent lens. Here, it is a match with the M9's digital sensor, and I like the results from the set.
I was checking out the close distance possibilities with this lens.

The setting sun was very bright, and I checked out what the sensor could handle (or not). First, on AE without any exposure changes. Of course, the image is then underexposed.

The subtle light and the colors are beautiful when focusing on the North and the sea oats. The wate r in the back is the Sound which separates Pensacola from Pensacola Beach.

There was a photographer with a tripod and a long lens. I like the 50mm focal length for most sunsets. I have tried in past years to use the 300mm lens and also the 500mm lenses for sunsets.

The photos above were taken (in time order) at Pensacola Beach, on the way to Fort Pickens where my favorite beaches are located. I left in every image, including ones with crooked horizon and overblown sunset or under exposed sunset.
I try not to forget that sunsets are not just pretty when looking at the setting sun. I turn to the East and also to the North to capture sea oats and the colorful Eastern side of the beaches.

We drove away from Pensacola Beach to get home, but then we saw good light in Gulf Breeze, which is a town located between Pensacola and Pensacola Beach. [also known for UFO sightings!]
Basically, we drive from Escambia County (FL) over the three mile bridge to Gulf Breeze (Santa Rosa County), and then over a smaller bridge from Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach (again in Escambia County, FL). There exists also an Escambia County, Alabama!

These were my digital images from that sunset. I also took a few snapshots with the M3 and the Hologon.

I am surprised at myself for using the Pentax-M lens for several weeks now as I have other lenses that I also want to use. Thanks for following this thread. My smugmug website shows many views on the posted images.

The color images look better to me with the 50/1.4 and the M8:
