M9 + X100s. Make sense?

Been toying around with the idea of getting an x100s, although I already have an M9 and a bunch of 35s. I previously had the X1, but sold it after I got the M9 two years ago.

Does the x100s and M9 combo make sense? Anyone here use a pair like this? How do you decide to use which one?

What draws my to the X100s is the higher ISO capabilities, and that's about it.

Why not?
The fuji would give you AF if you ever want to use it
High iso
And a great snatch and carry camera not having to worry about something happening to the M9

I used a M9 and a X100 before I sold the M9 and bought a X-Pro1. It makes complete sense to me.

I used the X100 when:

• I needed high ISO
• when I needed a quiet camera
• when I needed a cheaper camera (compared to the M9) for a bad neighborhood
• when I needed to focus close
• when I needed a smaller / lighter camera
• vacation

I have an M9 and I just sold my x100 to fund a Ricoh GR .

The ratioanle being that if I am slinging a camera over my shoulder it may as well be my beloved M9 , if I want to go with something smaller that will fit my pocket I can carry the Ricoh GR . The X100 was too big to fit in my pocket . The GR can also cover the the bullet points listed in the reply above.

I'm trading my X Pro 1 for an M9 and am keeping my X100 for those exact reasons (AF, high ISO and cheapness...) 🙂

I use both an M8.2 and an X100. On a trip, the X10 is sure to go along as well. The latter can be carried in a pocket when I don't want a camera showing; and even at its small size, the high-ISO beats the M8.2, and probably beats the M9.

The GR makes an excellent companion. Doesn't talk back and takes great images.

I just recently went on a vacation and took my M9 and x100s. I left my 35mm M lenses at home, taking a 28/50/90 set for the M9.

I'm honestly a lot happier shooting the M9, but I do want my bag with me when I do. The x100s is what I would take out if I'm not wanting to take the bag. I have a wrist strap on it, and just shove it into a jacket pocket. It's a very workable setup.

Plus, close focusing and video.

On my flickr, in the latest few images, I have two similar shots of the Dawes Glacier, one with the x100s, and one with the M9/Perar f4/28mm.

I had both the x100 and Leica ME. Sold the x100 as I didn't even use it. m9 files were just so much better, the camera also did exactly what I wanted

i do this. i love the 100s in so many ways, not least because it's nearly silent. however, to paraphrase the words of the great sean reid, "when i go back to the m9 i think, wow that's a grown-up camera." they're a great combination.

Thanks for the responses. Your thoughts exactly mirror mine. Still on the fence, but right now leaning to getting the X100s as a companion to the M9.
