M9P Hermes

I'd love to have one; if someone gave it to me. I would leave it exactly how it came from the factory. I've got three Leica M shooters (one digital and two film) and five lenses. They are all in various stages of "beat up from use". They were beautiful when they left the factory, but were made to be used.

That Hermes camera is beautiful from the factory, and so are the three lenses. They are made to be gazed upon.

I think it is quite beautiful, myself. I wonder what a "pedestrian" version would actually cost with that top plate in lieu of the normal one with a hot shoe....😉 I never use a flash on my M or, for that matter, any of my cameras. The only thing I use the hot shoe for these days is putting the film box lid into it so I can remember which of a half dozen film cameras is shooting what!😛

This jacket is by John Galliano, from the Men's Spring 2012 collection; the issue is to find the ochre-colored one to go with the M9 Hermes.

You could get away with it in Manhattan...😉 I'm not so sure why people get so offended by clothes or accessories that they would have to beat someone senseless. Seems strange.

I am sure it is a joke. But the concept is frightening.

It is called intolerance, ego, envy, arrogance, hate and a slew of other things. Not sure I have run across anyone who has actually done that though.:angel:

Hopefully it doesn't happen often... or someone may take offense at my carrying a green M3. 😱

People are people and should remember the golden rule or... (another joke here), there was someone in my biker days' that referred me to a quote that said, "Don't pick a fight with an old man, if he really is old, and can't fight, he'll just kill you." 😛

Ok, back on topic...I did check out Hermes' website and found they have a store here in Atlanta. The items I saw were priced in the stratosphere as to make a Leica S2 look like chump change. Whew!

Yes, there is one accross the street from my work...and it is outrageous. It's empty most of the time. Certainly Leica type customers...

Well, that one on ebay is much higher quality than the one provided with the Leica.

I like the M7 Hermes edition, imo the best looking non 'standard' Leica there ever was. I see the M7 Hermes as being more collectable than the M9P-Hermes; I'd be surprised if all the M9P-Hermes weren't already accounted for. Leica has positioned itself as a super luxury item where a new Leica anything is somewhat of a status symbol, let alone a Hermes edition.

Nonsense. Selling a special edition is not making the rest of the brand less of a tool. Selling Bentleys does not make Volkswagen a luxury brand.
