Mac Air vs Ipad 4 vs Ipad Mini ?

I find it hard to sympathise with some of the partisan comments here, which do seem more at home in the primary school playground.

I have written C++ and SQL on my iPad. I surf, listen to music and watch video on my Air. They're computers. The hardware and operating systems are optimised for different user groups but they can be used for the same things, if you choose to do so.

I have a 5" Android 'phone and it works just fine. I work with Windows all day as well, running off Unix and Linux servers. They work OK too.

It's the same as arguing whether Leica or Nikon is better. They work just fine and it's nothing more or less than a matter of taste.

There are many cheaper solutions. A chrome book is a cool idea, if you like doing spreadsheets and word processing in a browser. Try photoshop tho. 🙂

Exactly. A ChromeBook is only suitable for the most basic of uses, and it's not a good solution at that... You could do a spreadsheet, but what if you are on a flight, no internet... (yes, I know, some claim to work offline, very few do so very well.)
