Whenever I access my pictures on my Macbook air, either directly or through a program, they are presented in chronological order. Is there a way of having them presented in reverse chronological order, since i typically want to do something with the latest pics?

LR lets you sort by ascending and/or descending order also gives you other choice such as sort by capture time/ edit time, file name ext.

Actually when I access the photos directly by clicking on the Pictures icon in the Doc, I do see the latest pics first. But when I access the photos through a program like Fotor, or if I want to post a pic on RFF, I see the oldest pics first. Then I scroll through 2000 of them to get to the most recent.

I don't have or use LightRoom.

Finder>View (menu top row)>Arrange by (drop down choices)
Do this while your documents window is open. This works on OS 10.7 and 8. probably the same for all OS X
