Is UP400+ really just relabelled HP5+? I ask because I was keen to buy some HP5+, and an auction for some 2007-expired UP400+ (should be OK) has come up for a very reasonable price. I did some searching around to find out what it was (I didn't know what UP400+ was), and lots of people say it's rebranded HP5+. However, I see the Massive Dev Chart has quite different development times, out by a minute or two in Microphen (the developer I'm using).

Any ideas? Didn't know there were that many film factories any more.

Nobody has any ideas? I wonder why the idea is out there that it's rebranded HP5+ then if the developing times are so different, usually a minute and a half difference.

Even if it's not HP5+, is it a nice film then? I'm interested to know how it pushes, 1600 would be very handy.

Thanks all.

I believe that UP 400 has been at least two films, one of which was HP5+ (somewhat to Ilford's surprise, if I recall). But my memory may be at fault.

Cheers,

R.
