The Gods of film smiled on me today and i managed to acquire three rolls of this film for next to nothing (has been stored correctly even tho expired). OK i have no experience with this film and the warning 'Do not open can, load or unload camera except in absolute darkness' is printed on the side of the box. Does this mean i cant even remove the film from the plastic container? I shoot with a leica IIIc so im not looking forward to re cutting the leader in complete darkness

Try trimming and loading the camera with as dim light as possible. Then assume the first 3 frames are wasted, or at least test shots. If you shoot with a dark red filter (e.g. B+W 092), you should get a nice IR effect. Measure light with standard visible light meter (without filter) about 100-200 iso and bracket to make sure you get the best IR exposure. Keep close track of exposures and results so you can adjust your technique. Good luck.
