Macro work with M240

I am considering purchasing an M240 and it would help justify it if I could do macro work using my Canon FL manual focus macro lens. I would like to use this lens for an upcoming project that requires some macro work.

Does anyone know how well the M240 camera works with Canon lens adapters? Apparently there are some adapters for this lens to Leica M mount cameras. I am just wondering how well they work or if I would need to purchase a new lens for macro work.

I thought that the M240 has live view, if so there is no reason it wouldn't work using live view to focus.

I have the same system you have, an M240 with a Canon FL 50/3.5 Macro lens. I use this combo along with a Canon Bellows FL, and the appropriate Canon adaptors, which I use to “scan” 35mm film. I use “live view” and “focus peaking” to focus. Everything works well. I’m very happy with my scanned images.

I use M240 with VF-2 Olympus with a bunch of SLR lenses (Leica R, manual Nikkor, Canon FD, Zeiss for Contax, etc. ).
Results are top.
Just some "time parallax" (same as liveview anyway) when in use with moving subjects.


But for static "macro" use, nothing to complain, great pictures, as good as the lenses can deliver.

at one point, I was actually using an M240 with my FD 50mm 3.5 macro to digitize my film negatives.. but felt like it was a waste of shutter life so I got a cheaper digital camera for this purpose instead.

another disadvantage with the M240 EVF is that magnification is on the center only so sometimes you may have to focus and recompose.
