In case you're wondering what you're going to do with your trusty old Panasonic G1 after you get your new GH1 or G2 or whatever... well, how about using the G1 for remotely-triggered shooting?
I wanted to be able to fire my G1 remotely via various kinds of triggers (trip switch, PocketWizard, etc.) and rather than spending sixty bucks buying Panasonic's cable switch and cutting it apart to get the innards, I put together my own.
