Made my first thrift store camera purchase:

Nikon One Touch 35/2.8 for $2.98.
Looks pristine, and acts that way with two AA batteries and a roll of Fuji 200.
It is blocky, and seems primitive compared to my Stylus, but it sure seems to work precisely on focusing and flash.

I've got the L35AF2 and the L35AF. I've put a film through the L35AF and it is has an incredible lens. Beat my Contax T2. Seriously! I hear the AF2 has the same lens although the build quality isn't anywhere near as good on the AF2 as it is on the AF. Congrats.

Did it come with a lens cap and case as well?
Great deal on the camera - paid a bit more than that for my L35AF.
Supposed to be a great lens.

$2.98 was a very nice price on the L35AF2, especially if it is in excellent condition. I have sold four of them in the last month, for an average of $25.00 apiece. Ror some reason, they keep falling into my hands. The postman brought me a box lot that I won on eBay, I bid on it primarily for the very nice L35AF that was included. But now I have 4 working L35AF2 cameras as well. Two need a little work (one has a ticky shutter button, and one has a broken battery door that I think I can glue back together), one looks to be in excellent condition, and one is a little ugly (missing the rubber on the grip end). I will probably keep the ugly one. Two are loaded with Fuji Reala 100, probably long expired, but I will shoot them anyway and see what comes out, I guess.

Also include was a L35AF3 Macro that seems to be working OK, and a Tele Touch 300AF that needs batteries, and that I can't seem to get the sliding cover open on.

The one with the sticky shutter had some other issues, the film counter wasn't working, neither was the self timer, and it would not shut off when the barn door was closed, so it became a donor. I swapped the back with the one with the broken battery cover latch, and put the rubber covering on the "ugly" one, so it is ugly no more. 🙂

I bought the lot from a Hollywood prop house, maybe one or two of them is a movie star. 😉

Congrats on the Nikon One Touch. Make sure to show us some results. I have one, but have yet to shoot it. However, I have really been pleased with the results of the L35AF that I got for 99 cents. I really like it for black and white.
