Apparently "Belstaff commissioned the help of Magnum’s photographers to find out the types of equipment and clothing they would need to tackle the world’s toughest terrains. "

So there's a collection suitable for a midlife crisis, that I'd dearly love to see some of the members dressed in (especially the jeans).

If you really need a £60 white pocket t-shirt, or a £400 backpack (strangely none of their bags seem to have camera inserts), then they've got you covered.

the audience is more of the twenty-something street photographer, aspiring photojournalist crowd. the kind that would buy the m-d because it's so hardcore.

On the other hand, their cloths attract girls like that ... so maybe I should get it:

P.S.: what is Ewan McGregor doing on a motorcycle in a museum??

She looks like she's dozed off on his shoulder.

I'm not sure how many of the 20 something aspiring photojournalist crowd are dropping £700 on messenger bags (without camera inserts) because this 30 something aspiring photojournalist certainly isn't haha.

Obviously I hold Magnum in high regard, but they've made a few of these moves lately, and I think it's a really bad look.

They used to be more of a motorcycling clothing company than they currently are. It used to be a British company (since 1924), and their waxed-cotton Trialmaster is/was one of the classic motorcycling jackets (right up there with the Schott Perfecto). I have two of them, and have worn the heck out of one of them. The more beat-up looking, the better for a Trialmaster (and those ones are coveted). Their prices weren't too bad then. Then about 10 years ago or so an Italian company bought them, jacked the prices up and shifted a lot of the manufacturing from England to Italy. A $350 Trialmaster all of a sudden became $750. Then the Italian company sold Belstaff to Tommy Hilfiger, Labelux and Harry Slatkin. So it's now a British company again, but they seem to have retained the Italian prices 🙂

The waxed cotton is tough as nails and with proper treatment can be virtually waterproof. But for additional protection I usually wear an armored 'shirt' underneath my Trialmaster.

I still have a very worn Trialmaster bought at Ontario Honda almost 30 years ago. It was never waterproof. Then there's my Lewis Leathers "Panther MK II Suit"-a rubberized nylon (Dunloproofed) Belstaff copy from 1969-the pants are still waterproof!

Somehow the look reminds me of the british punk scene or "A Clockwork Orange".

ACO is 45 years! in the past...
Let's see, reminded me of Neeson, after he said; 'I will find You and I will Kill You!' look,...of course, the Beretta 92 helps 😀

'Taken', directed by Pierre Morel/ produced by Luc Besson! You know Luc Besson right?
