Canada, eh.
The Lieca CL and 50mm Summicron from Mike in Japan is waiting for me at home! Mike placed this package in the mail on Monday morning in Tokyo and it has reached hicktown Ontario, Canada 5 days later! (Too bad I have to stay late at work tonight.)

Not a bad time by what I have heard of Canadian customs. I have a similar story myself. I bought a LowePro Orion Trekker II bag just over a week ago. It was sent from Singapore last Friday and arrived here at my door on Tuesday morning. Plus to make things a bit more difficult Monday was a public holiday. I think that is some kind of record.

On a side note the sender marked the package as 'used computer accessory with no commercial value'. Sent it as a gift with a money value of $1. By the size, shape and weight of the package you could tell it wasn't what was written on the package, but customs didn't realise (or care).

Well i finally got home and opened the package immediately. The CL and Summicron arrived safely! The first thing I did was to mount the M-Rokkor 40mm lens I already had onto the CL and mount the Summicron 50 version 3, onto my M3. I put a strap on the CL's side strap loops and went for a walk into town. I took a few shots at the train station, but I immediately realized that I didn't like the side strap loops, not on that side anyway. I like to wrap the neckstrap around my right wrist, and it just didn't work with the strap on the left side of the camera. I'm going to have to use a wrist strap attached to the tripod socket at the bottom of the camera.

Anyway, I'm satisfied with the gear trade Mike from Tokyo and I worked out, and am happy to recommend Mike as a "ggod guy". Thanks, Mike!

Here's the CL and 50 Summicron (3rd) with their new mounts. I'm particularly interested in comparing this 50 Summicron with my collapsible version.

This is about it as far as gear aquisition goes for me. Just a Summar and a Photoequip M grip, and my gas is gone!
