Mail Order Film Processing in Europe

Hi all,

I'm travelling to Paris in April/May and I will be using 35mm slide film throughout the trip. I am seeking the best way to process E6.

A couple of years ago, I was in London and used Peak Imaging in the UK for mail order processing and they did a great job so I was considering using them again.

Questions:
1. If I use Peak Imaging and mail film from Paris to UK, does the film go through any scanning/x-ray process upon entering UK which may damage the film prior to processing?

2. Are there any processing labs in Paris recommended which are also reasonably priced? Peak Imaging costs around $8 Australian dollars (currently same in US dollars) per roll for E6 processing. I'd be willing to pay around $10 per roll.

Any thoughts?

Waiting to process until I return home = unprocessed film as carry-on luggage = film is x-rayed from Paris to Singapore and then a second time from Singapore to Sydney (Australia is far!). I'm trying to avoid this altogether.

I am also going to be travelling for 3 weeks (max 2 rolls per day =approx 43 rolls total) and I don't want to be carrying all this unprocessed film.

I used Wolf Foto in Germany, they're good if you can't find anything in Paris.

Can you send the film home after you use so much of it?
