There is only one day a week when I can visit the local photo lab and the processing quality at nearby CVS stores, while convenient, has recently declined to unacceptable levels.

I've heard good things about ABC Photo Labs in Connecticut (formerly Mystic?) so I thought I might try them. Can anyone recommend ABC or any other good mail-order film procssing lab? I shoot mostly C-41 color print film.

Thanks in advance.

I have also given up on local printers. Besides poor color, the prints are always too soft, almost look out of focus. Have had great results with print film by sending it out for Kodak Perfect Touch Processing. Much better color, and print focus is spot on.

Your local CVS, too? The one here in town was the last place that, until recently, did an OK job with my C-41 film.
Just picked up some stuff today and while the prints are decent, the negatives are scratched and the scans on the CD show the scratches. :bang:
This is the second time this has happened and so is a deal breaker for me. The first roll was the roll that I posted a photo from in the "W/NW: lamppost" thread. Silly me, I chose that shot based on how the print looked and didn't notice the scratch until after I posted it 😡 . I foolishly decided to give them another chance. I had some pointed words("If it is my camera that caused this why are the prints fine but the scans aren't?") with the manager before he decided to not charge me and gave me some film and offered free processing next time. Took the film and declined the processing.
Now I'm forced to find a mail-order place. I have used Vermont Color in the past and will likely try them again but what I'd really like to find is a lab that will dev. and scan anything I send them(120, 35mm, "real"B&W,slide, and C-41 films).
Going to spend some time on the ACE Index and see what I turn up.
