Main Forum Page Reorganized

It looks too compact with a soup of small letters and words. I liked the older look that provided the latest post in each subforum at a glance.
I prefer the old look, but I can live with that.

Forget what he said. He just realized that clicking on the heading of each subforum gets you to an overview page. Wonderful!

I was used to the former layout, and thought it worked pretty well.

My criticism of the new Forums layout is that the font could be at least 50 per cent larger to aid viewing; on my 13 inch MacBook Retina Pro (white on black) it is difficult to see comfortably as the lettering blurs after viewing for a while.

It took me ten minutes to find "Scale Focus 35s" so that I could follow the Rolliei 35 threads. And now that I know how to find it, it'll take me ten seconds each time instead of the one second before the change.

It's a shame that "Scale Focus 35s" is not included in the left hand side vertical banner, as it used to be.

Just click the headings of each group

you will find the previous larger type style headings

Will add "Scale Focus 35s" to the side menu,

Searching "Rollei 35" will give you results too.

I will straight up declare my bias as I dont like change. Efforts always appreciated but this looks way to cluttered and complex to me. I first logged on and thought I will have to come back and figure this out later. CL and CLE forums are now miles apart when often their userbase and 40mm crossover link them closely together. Often it would be weeks between new threads and you could tell if anything was new just from the main page, now you have to go into the forum just to see if there is any new posts every time. I always thought of the site one of the best laid out on the net but this just seems to flood the main page with forum links in tiny script.

Yes, I just look at the main page and don't look further anymore. Could be that I miss a lot but is it takes longer to read a post than to find it I don't bother anymore.

Many thanks Stephen! I was rather hoping that you might add it!

From my point of view everything is fine with the new main forum page and better than before. Thank you very much for the time and trouble it must have taken you. It's much appreciated.

Sony RX1

Sony RX1

Stephen,

Wouldn't it be more accurate to add RX1 to A7 given that they share full frame sensor? Or better and in the hopes that Sony come out with an RX2, how about Sony Fixed Lens category as before the re-organization. Thanks for your time and patience.

David

Thanks, Stephan, for reloading the Home page sidebar. It's just quicker to navigate from than the Forum page.

You're doing a great job.

It was a tossup whether to list all Leica made cameras together, or combine Leica made cameras with other make Leica mount cameras.
Originally on the home page links I used the 1st method, which I just changed to the 2nd method.

PC Computer Class 101
Ctrl + magically increases the size of the type on screen.
not sure if that works with Macs or not

The skin on the forum page is a bit messed up (at least in Chrome) which may compromise how well the page is received. I'm glad to see the Home page's forum links were reverted back to their original state though. Three clicks to ZM seemed was two too many, sparsely used though it may be.

Forums have been reorganized

and now all of them are I believe easier to find on ONE page
-- once you get used to the new way of looking at things.

Getting used to it will not be easy for me.
I'll give it a try but it was so good as it was in my opinion. Why the drastic change if I may ask?
