Hi everybody, I have sent the following mail to info@hasselblad.se a month ago.
No reply at all!?
Any one here could kindly give me a helping hand? Thx.

Hi, I am a owner of Hasselblad XPAN2. I really enjoy the awfully expenience of taking pictures with xpan.
Until one day, unfortunately, I have lost the little cover of the PC flash terminal. Thought it don't affect the superb picture quality; I do believe you will understand how upset I was as if it was some part missed from a master piece of art.
I have contacted my local distributor in Hongkong, Shriro, for a few times since Dec 2005. Everytime they said they are helping me to order from Hasselbald?! Seem that this kind of issue is too little to be considered, even our Hasselbald, in nowadays.
In vain and despair, I submit this mail via Hass. website, and hopefully, you could help me to get the little "part" and tell me if there is any cost incurred. Thank you.

Vincent Fong

Is this a joke?

Not to be rude, but it sounds like an extremely small thing that you are making a sizeable deal about.
If you seem so intent on finding one, just go to ebay.

hey, I don't think it is small thing as for a serious camera manufacturer, Hassselblad. Especially they make the connector in the front side that it is so easily to be moistured by hand. I don't want this part rust. And I think it is why they make a cover.

Thank you for your suggestion, I have tried ebay.

Okay, now your logic makes sense.
At first I thought you just wanted it for cosmetic reasons, now I understand why you do want the cover.

In my experience (with other cameras, I can't say I've ever used a XPan), the exposed metal won't rust regardless of the sweat that gets on it--cameras are meant to be used, and they shouldn't faulter you in a way like this.

I suggest contacting SK Grimes in Rhode Island. They make all kinds of cool stuff/ much of it custom. They are reasonable and will likely accomodate your request.

hey, anyone really think it is a problem of Hasselblad's absence of reponse at all?
Is it too demanding for a customer to ask for a original spare part from the manufacturer?

I think it is a problem when you recieve no reply to an email from any manufacturer for a month. Have you tried sending a follow up email? It sometimes seems that the faster we can communicate the slower the process becomes.

Thx Wilco. When will be your next order?

I have just got a reply from Hassy., they asked me which cap is it, and I replied with a diagram to show where the cap is located..... now waiting for their reply again......

Hey I am living in Hong kong, pls mail to me via vinfong@gmail.com , for your cost of getting the cap from Hassy.
Thank you very much for your helping hand. Thx.

You know, I think you should be able to go into any shop on Stanley Street and get this replaced for HK$5 or less. We're talking about a generic piece of plastic.

Ya, that why we should expect the manufacturer are pleased to help a customer for such a low cost stuff. But not overlook such an issue.

That's why it is not Canon or Nikon, or neither Fuji TX-2..... I do expect more on Hassy. as they charged much higher.

Hey, I just got a mail from Hasselblad se.

Very short and direct. But helpless.
Is the LT Kwan famous? So that I can contact him/her without knowing a way to call/mail??

Is it a joke from Hasselblad se??
Anyone know Claes Milton? Does he/her always response to people like a robot?

Hi everyone, for your information, finally I got the little xpan pc connector cover from Hongkong Shriro today.

After waited for half an year and refered by Hasselblad SE, they charged me 30HKD (~$4US) per one.
Although it is not cheap for a plastic cover, but I like to get back the original one.

Thx those cared this topic.
