Malham, Yorkshire

I used to love hill walking around that area (and other parts of the Yorkshire Dales) back when I lived in Britain.

I'll try to dig up some negatives and scan them. (Can't promise anytime soon...)

As for living there: I guess it depends somewhat on how you make a living, and how much access to "city life" you need for work or for culture...

great images, brings back alot of happy memories, climbing and pot holing arround that part of the country many many years ago, to fat and too old to do that sort of thing now

Nice shots Ped. Only been there once myself and it absolutely threw it down with rain. The footbridge from the B&B to our car was under water the day we left. Had to wade across it barefooted carrying our bags.

Hi guys

Thanks for the compliments. I run an internet business (leaving teaching this summer) so assuming they have the internet(!) then I'll be OK. Girlfriend is a teacher, so that's also great as she'll be paid the same as anywhere else in the UK...

Kit used: Epson R-D1 and Voigtlander 28mm ultron (older one, f1.9). Beleve this shot was at F8/ ISO200, shutter was 1/350.

Cheers

My sister lives near Beverley in the south of Yorkshire but used to have a small-holding above Halifax. I'll certainly entertain the argument that it's "God's Own County".

:)

My favourite North Yorshire walk.
Well wasn't it time we had a Yorkshire thread?

I took these pictures on top of Malham Cove walking up to Malham tarn with my Rolleicord Vb last year.

Very nice shots.

I didn't realise one could climb up the waterfall in Gordale Scar and carry on up the valley.. will have to do that next time!

... just a few more for those soft southerners who were too soft even for the south and had to head even further south to a medieval ducal province, so they know what they're missing ;)
