In need to replace mine and have the earlier version with shutter stuck at 500 i think. Is there any difference in IQ between the earlier and later versions of this lens.

I'd go with a earlier version with the Super. While the last version is multicoated and often considered optically superior, it is not collapsible (which limits its usefulness on the Super, whose bellows movements make most sense with a collapsible lens), and it has a rather soft aluminium helical which is prone to wear.
