Hi,
I went to the G20 protest in London last week with my Mamiya 6 (new one). I shot 7 rolls of 220 and processed them at the weekend – about half the frames were blank. I checked the camera and found that when I pressed the shutter it sounded ok but the shutter blades were not opening.
Understandably I was very annoyed – especially as I had had the shutter repaired and the lens serviced in October last year. I took the camera back to the repair shop and have just received a call to say that it has been fixed under their 6 month guarantee. I wasn’t able to speak to the technician but the woman who phoned me said that the problem was shutter run-down. Can anybody tell me what shutter run-down is? Is it common – I’ve never heard of it!
Cheers
