Mamiya 6 meter/LED question

I just received a KEH "bargain" Mamiya 6 outfit with the 75/3.5 lens and according to the manual, any over exposure in AE mode will show up in the viewfinder as a blinking arrow pointing upwards. I've been trying to make this happen but so far all I get is nothing in the VF for over exposure. I guess something is wrong with the LEDs?

I just picked up a mamiya 6 last week, and I have the same issues. The led works, but no blinking arrow. On another note, when you advance film, does it feel a little "sticky". The action on mine doesn't feel smooth and sometimes a little "sticky".

Way, I'll check it out later, but be aware they made several changes in the Mamiya 6 and did not always update the instruction book. If the camera seems to work ok otherwise I would not worry about it. Be aware the meter is not TTL and it is biased towards transparency film so negative films may appear underexposed.

Nathanappel, the action is never as smooth as 35mm film because you have the paper rubbing the edges of the spools. For the same reason, you may get squeaks when you advance the film, this is normal in many medium format cameras.

If anyone is interested, I'm going to post an add soon to sell my spare Mamiya 6 body (I have two now, only need one)

Thanks for the info. I've been reading up on the M6 and am aware of the bias towards under exposing. I too have squeaks when winding the film. Wish I knew you were selling your M6 sooner!
