For John Kenny, posted a thread on the poor Mamiya-US forum asking for the accuracy of external viewfinder of Mamiya 7 - 43mm lens.
Hi John:
two diagrams are attached to this thread showing the "accuracy" of the external viewfinder focussed on 1 meter and on infinity.
Description of the pictures: the dotted line marks the whole "window" if you are looking through the viewfinder. The frame and lines are indicating the lines in the viewfinder. The bright-blue rectangle indicates the real picture as shown on the film or groundglass.
I don't know, whether my results are reproduceable with other M7/43mm-viewfinders. Therefore again my strong advice to calibrate your internal and external viewfinders with help of a groundglass. You will get appropriate groundglasses from many MF-camera manufacturer. The groundglass I'm using is a spare part from Linhof.
