Mamiya 7, 80mm lens makes noise?

My Mamiya 7, 80mm lens makes a very faint noise when I roll it in my hand. Its an odd sound, like someone poking a cellophane balloon. Whatever is making the noise is not completely loose, floating around in the lens.

Is this normal? Does anyone else hear a noise coming from their 80mm?

Mine does make a noise. I think it comes from a sort of ball bearing. I once had my lens disassembled, and remember i saw some, seemingly loose, bearing balls there. Sorry, i can´t remember more accurately between which parts were those balls...

I have always thought the noise is normal.

80mm noise

80mm noise

it is normal. start to worry when it no longer makes the noise (time for cla). Used the 7 and 7ii since it was released and all the lenses make noise.

mine makes the same noise, had to check. still works well though.

I've never heard any noise from my 80mm. Nor from the 50mm. But I've had my Mamiya 7 for about 3-4 years.

If I take the lens off, I can hear what sounds like something moving around inside. Totally normal I would guess.
