Mamiya 7 (not II)

Good day Gentlemen,

I've just got my hands on a used Mamiya 7 with standard lens. Ran 2 rolls of tri-x through it and it works great!

Just a quick question though. Can one 'dry-fire' (i.e. no film loaded) the camera? Seems like the film back has to be open in order for one to do so. Read the manuals but i just want to confirm...

On the Mamiya 6 you can't dry fire, so maybe they kept the same system on the 7?

Very nice shots, especially the one of the young woman reading. It gives a good sense of the oofa. (OT: What developer did you use with your Tri-X?).

HC-110B for the Tri-X.. 7.30 mins, continuous agitation for the 1st min and 10 sec for every min there after.

Shots number one and two were shot on Delta 3200. It all went terribly wrong as my DDX developer was very,very expired. The pictures were horribly under developed. I was lucky to be able to salvage something.

A few more shots....the 80mm lens seems to be all i need. Although the 65mm lens is tempting!

The 80mm lens is really, really sharp.

If you think the 80 is sharp (and it is!), you will be even more impressed by the others. The 80 is the least-resolving of all of them, basically. the 43, 50, 65, 150 are all sharper. A great camera and lens system, really can't go wrong with any of them.

Just wait until you find that 43 mm lens and the cash for it!

Save for the 43mm and skip the 65, 😉 I have both but dont have a body to use them with lol
