got a new camera and now I have to learn how to use it,
so I loaded her with a film and hope the weather is fine

It's a hell of a camera, I got mine towards the end of the year so I've not had the opportunity to shoot it as much as I'd like, but along with the Rolleiflex I think this will be my main shooter.

It's smaller and lighter than a Nikon F5, but has a neg many times bigger. that's why, for me, the Mamiya won out in the end.

I'm sure you'll enjoy yours Martin!

I see from your Flickr, you've shot a Rolleiflex 6008, so you'll know there's not substitute for a big negative.

I wouldn't worry about taking it out in bad weather. I've got mine wet a few times with no problem. I think they're tougher than people give them credit.
I just wish Mamiya did a faster 80mm lens for them, a 2.8 would be awesome.
 
It's a great camera! 6x6 and 6x7 slides and negatives are such a pleasure to look at.
I have a Mamiya 6 and use it quite often. For 6x7 my camera is the wonderful Plaubel Makina 67 :)
 
Does anybody sell a Mamiya7? I´m looking for a black one with 80mm in good condition.
Offers from Germany are welcome, but also inner Europe.

I bought a 6, but now I am having a hard time taking pics of my 7ii to sell it. It is such a beautiful camera. Why can't choosing a camera be easy?

These are fantastic! Which film is this and what scanner did you use to scan these??

Thanks Brian, it's very kind of you to say so.

The top one was shot on Fuji Acros 100 and the bottom one on Fuji Neopan 400.
It's a crying shame that Fuji have stopped producing Neopan 400 in 120 size, it has been my favourite film for a long time. I've now started trying Ilford HP5 instead.

Both were developed in Rodinal (1+50) and scanned on an old Epson Perfection 4870 as 16 bit greyscale Tiffs. I would like a better scanner, but 120 is pretty forgiving and the Epson does a decent job.

After scanning I post process in Lightroom. Mostly just to adjust the exposure and contrast and do a little dodging and burning.

Here's one I did recently shooting after dark using a tripod and the 50mm lens. I pushed HP5 to 1600 and developed in Rodinal.
