I have a Mamiya 7 with a rangefinder that needs to be adjusted. The vertical alignment is off. However, I noticed another slight difference in the alignment on the horizontal axis. When looking at the top and the bottom of the rangefinder patch, the line seems skewed. The camera is leveled, the lines are on a straight wall. I was wondering if this is due to the vertical alignment being off, and will this fix itself when this is adjusted, or is this caused by something else?

In your pic the Target's not square to the edges of the image. Vertically or horizontally.
The tilt of the card makes both axis appear to be off.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure what you mean. The picture is not taken at an angle, so I don't think it should matter wether the target is slightly rotated or not. I took the picture to illustrate the problem, it's something that's consistent no matter what I point the (leveled) camera at.

I am not an expert on such things, but my 2 cents are:

1) The vertical alignment is noticeably off, but it's not going affect focus accuracy.
2) The bend at the bottom of the patch is a little odd, but it appears very slight. If it's not affecting your ability to focus, then I'd probably just leave it alone.

As best as I can measure with the new image both vertical and horizontal lines measure square to the edge of the frame as does the RF patch itself.

#2 in post 4 is also there. As thegman says if it doesn't have any effect, leave it alone.
