Mamiya 7II: How to adjust exposure compensation for an 81a filter?

Hello all,

Newbie question here:

I have a Mamiya 7II. Usually shooting Velvia 50 or 100, but not always.

Using an 81a filter from B+W.

Filter factor on an 81a is 1.4

Therefore, according to my internet research, I should increase exposure compensation by 1/2 stop.

However, Mamiya 7II exposure compensation dial only goes in 1/3 stops.

Question:
1. Am I understanding this correctly?
2. How would I best adjust the exposure compensation on the 7II to correct for this filter?

Doesn't the Mamiya 7 measure through the lens ? In that case, you don't have to do anything.

If it doesn't measure through the lens, you can use the ASA-dial to compensate; e.g. if you have a FP4 (125 Asa), set it to 100 asa.

It is between 1/3 and 1/2 - if you don't want to go manual (where you could adjust by a half step on the aperture), use 1/3 - the remaining 1/10 stop is way below the metering precision unless you restrict yourself to photographing test patterns. FWIW, I don't even compensate for a 81a or anything else within less than half a stop factor, unless I shoot from a tripod, as I have no reason to believe that I can repeat hand-held meter readings to anything better than a 1/2 stop precision...
