Hello,

Not a long time ago, I have started a project with urban night shots with my Mamiya 7ii.

I set the camera on "B" mode and I use also a cable release. When I use exposure times longer than 1,5 - 2,5 minutes, almost every time the shutter unlocks suddenly and accidentally, while the button is still pressed...:bang: However, I haven't used yet exposures longer than 4-5 minutes.

I think it's not a matter of the specific cable as I had the same problem in the past with another one. Moreover, the problem also occurs if I use the camera button.

Any idea? Anybody with the same problem?

Any chance your battery is low? I believe the Mamiya 7 requires battery power for longer exposures, and this is a symptom of failing. I've got one on loan from a friend at the moment, and the PDF I've seen of the manual makes reference to such.

I shot a project two weeks ago, about 40 rolls of film in which the shortest exposure with the 7II was 8 minutes (ranging up to 45 minute exposures) and the B setting worked fine. You might want to have a camera repair place have a look at your body/s.
