Morning all,

I'm just about to get into MF and have two rather newbie questions to ask:

1. Does Zeiss make glass for the 7ii?
2. The 7ii is a 6x7 camera but is it possible to make 6x9 frames as well?
3. Can you all recommend a 6x9 camera?

Thanks much everyone, as always I'm looking so forward to the forum's thoughts.

All the best,

Chris

1. Only Mamiya lenses (43 + 50 + 65 + 80 + 150 + twohoundredsomething)
2. No, only 6x7 and 35mm Panorama with an adapter
3. There's a Fuji I think, no clue though how good it is.

The mamiya 7 glass is better than Zeiss, generally. So, that's a good thing.

The Fuji 6x9s (GSW690/GW690) are great cameras, but the larger neg is the main advantage - the M7 is pretty much better in most all regards. (I have both).

Mamiya 7 lenses are so incredible that you will not be wishing for Zeiss. The utility of the camera is not as good as the Bronica RF645 but an awful lot better than thee big fujis. The shutter is also extremely quiet.

6X9 gives a nice great negative with the ratio of 35mm cameras but boy it eats a lot of film. I myself am more a fan of 645 and 6X6.

1) no
2) no
3) no

Not to sound negative, but shoot the Mamiya 7 with it's lenses for what it is, and realize the limitations on your photos are your talent and not the hardware.

Thank You

Thank You

Hi everyone,

And add one more question by me: Is there a way or a mask or whatever to shoot by Mamiya 7II for 6x6? don't tell me to crop, but is there an adapter or a tool to use to shoot 6x6 with Mamiya 7II?

No. Here is my SOURCE. After scanning my 6x7 slides, I will crop them to fit into 6x6 Gepe slide mounts for my Hassleblad projector.
