Mamiya Press Viewfinder - The Coolest

I've been getting crazy about the Mamiya Press system...

Looking at getting a whole suite of lenses, backs and bodies (for about the price of one Hassy 500 or Mamiya 7). Also, for a hacker like me, it's great for custom modding 🙂.

But one of the coolest things? The viewfinder has a frameline selector, which I've never seen in any other system. I really wanted to know how it did that. Maybe rotated a number of plates with the right framelines in it perchance? Nope.

Just saw this thread. Thanks for this. I really enjoyed it. I have a Super Press 23, with 50mm, 65mm, 100mm, 150mm, and a 250mm (f/5) lenses, five roll film backs, and a ground glass back with 12 sheet film holders. Fantastic system, I just wish I could get to use it more, or at all. My photography has been taking a back seat to other things in life.

Indeed it is a fantastic system. One that has an infinite variety of accessories.

Overall, Mamiya designed 13 different lenses for the press system (counting both gen 1 and gen 2). And they can all be had for very little.

I've got the 50, 100, 127, 150 and 250 F5.

I'm looking for a well priced 75mm. Id say the 50, 75 and 100 F2.8 are the most sought after.

I've also been shooting with the universal for Polaroids. And it's fantastic for that. Get some FP3000 before it's gone!
