Hi, I'm hoping someone can help...

I just bought a secondhand RZ67 Pro (my first Mamiya!), I loaded it with Fuji FP-100C film, and all came out blank. I went through the usual checklist: put a new battery in, removed lens cap, dark slide, etc etc.

I had noted whenever I took a shot a loud beeping sound goes off for a few seconds, before I can cock the advance lever. After some investigating I noticed the mirror lockup on the lens is stuck. Could this be why my photos aren't coming out? I read in an earlier thread somewhere else that someone lost a roll of film because of the same issue...

I have tried inserting two different release cables to turn the lockup off, but they didn't work. Is there another trick I could try?

I am dying to use this camera, and hoping this is all that's wrong.

Thank you all in advance!

Annie

The warning buzzer goes off if the shutter is in open position for 50 seconds, and the shutter then is closed (via a emergency current cut-off rather than the regular timer) after another ten, to protect the battery.

Your issue might be caused by a stuck mirror-up, but it might also be due to a broken timing circuit on the camera or a failed shutter in the lens.

Can you test it with a different lens? And do you have a manual so that you can verify whether everything else on the camera (T switch etc.) are set to sane values?

Annie,

Can you make a video with a phone/video camera of the RZ67 while it does this, and post it?

Could be easier for someone to identify the problem visually.
