I recently got a nice example of a Mamiya Six [1953 model] that was in pretty neat condition. The first roll indicated the RF was just not quite set up correctly. A bit of searching on line and here indicated a reasonably straight forward adjustment just through the provided access hole. A quick trip to the local glass cutter and a spare 5x4 GG was cut to the exact width of the film plane guides. The adjustment took only a few minutes after that.

The next roll indicated exact focus and a light leak. A strong light highlighted the leak, just a pinhole and thankfully no others. Fixed that and was about to head off the next day and was loading the camera into my small carry bag and how I'm not sure, but the unopened camera took a major dive to the floor. I checked the rangefinder and of course the two images were not even meeting.

More searching and I found how to remove the top cover so I could examine the internals. I figured out how to get all the screws removed and took off the top plate. One of the viewfinder lenses had jolted loose stopping the image forming clearly. A dob of glue and adjustment of the rangefinder grub screw and despair tuned back to delight 🙂

I'm usually extremely careful handling my cameras - usually.
