How to remove the top Mamiya Six V 6x6/6x4.5 Shawn can you help?

Hello im new to this forum an di see its a long time since any replies here but i give it a try.
I have two Mamiya six dual format. I need to clean the viewfinder on one of them. I found a description how to do this on the single format version and thought it would be similar on the dual format version. But something prevents me from taking the top off after removing the screws inside the takeup side of the camera. Shawn did take off the top on his dual format. Could you tell me how this is done step by step? Do i have to unscrew the pig-nose screw on the top of the counter? im hesitant to open this....

I couldn't remember so I just pulled it out and took the cover off as the viewfinder could use a cleaning anyway.

Really easy to pull it out. Only remove the four screws along the bottom of the top cover and unscrew the film advance. Just grab the winder and spin it counter clockwise and it will come off. Do not worry about the screw in the middle of the advance, it has nothing to do with removing the advance. Lift off the frame number indicator and the whole top will lift right off. Nothing is unscrewed inside the take up side of the camera.

Hi Shawn
How do i clean the rangefinder?
It seems it is out of focus more than foggy.
When opening the top the only lens i can clean without dismantling the whole rangefinder assembly is the backside of the front lens. I dont want to touch the semitransparent mirror since i hear it is really fragile.

To clean it all it has to be disassembled and that involves glueing it back together.

I didn't do this on mine. Just cleaned the front/back of the front lens, the insides of the glass in the top cover and I also very gently wiped the frontside of the mirror with a Q tip. According to that site it is the backside that is coated but be careful anyway. The mirror was somewhat dirty and that is where my haze was coming from.
