Hi all,
I have a Mamiya Sekor 100mm 3.5 lens that has a broken retraction mechanism. The lens pulls in and out and rotates through the full 360 degrees. It should pull out and remain in position with a small twist. Clearly the mechanism is broken inside the lens as I can hear a small screw/something rattle inside the barrel.
Does anyone know how to get inside the barrel mechanism? I have looked all over the internet but all I can find are instructions on how to clean the glass. I need to get inside the barrel extraction mechanism not the lens itself.
The cost of a professional repair would probably outstrip getting a replacement.
Thanks in advance,
James

I don't know how to work on this lens, but I have one. The lens is a little loose when 'fixed' in the out position. It doesn't effect the performance at all. I did send it out to have the shutter worked on and they said they couldn't fix that looseness. As it doesn't seem to cause any problems I just live with it.
But I agree about the cost.

Got the same problem. I completely disassembled the lens to buy a used one.

Bill Rogers in Las Vegas, Nevada could probably fix this, if he's still working.

He is! I just got a lens repaired by him. He's awesome!
