Manfrotto Apparel opinions & other suggestions?

Has anyone used their jackets?

Thinking bout their Lino PRO Wind Jacket or Air Pro (don't see a material difference but style/price) Lino PRO Wind Jacket seems to be less functional than the air but more expensive??? $229 vs $179

Also thinking about the soft shell.

Are they worth it?
If not what rangefinder friendly fashionable apparel do you use?

w/o being able to judge the quality of the manfroto fashion, think about what they really good at and for what they have a loyal base of users ... I guess this is not their apparel line of products.

If you need something protective, go into an outdoor store and ask someone for advice. Tell them about the intended use, what you want to stuff into the pockets (take it with you) and try in on.
If you need a tripod and go with Manfrotto, you'll most likely be a happy camper.
 
I have had a look at the Manfrotto jackets and they have a lot going for them except one thing, the price! For the money you will most likely do better at a quality outdoor store, as suggested by another poster.
 
They had a $50 dollar rebate that just ended through B&H & amazon. Unfortunately I missed it, but in the 120-140 price range these jackets may be worth it.
 
I have Cold Aglutinin Disease and have very bad effects from cold that effect my health. I have found that with outerwear it always pays to buy the best.

Last year I got the full $450.00 replacement cost of a Patagonia "Stretch Element" Gortex soft shell applied to the newest $600.00 top of the line soft shell after having used the Stretch Element for over eight years.

I had just mentioned the word "Upgrade" to a salesman that was helping me and then he inquired what was the problem with my old shell. Basically I told him that it had lost its water resistance, even after reapplication of Nic Wax. Basically I got to use a Patagonia shell for eight years for free and turned it into cash when I wanted to upgrade.

I also happen to own a Manfrotto Photographer's Jacket that my girlfriend bought me as a Christmas present. I use it as a winter coat with the Patagonia R4 vests and sweaters during the winter because it offers more protection from the elements than my new Patagonia shell. It has mucho pockets and I found that I could add additional padding to the expandable side pockets by using Domke inserts.

In use I use this photographer's coat instead of a bag in winter. This year it will be in its third season and it still looks like new. Know you are buying a premium product here and expect extended durability.
