Manila / Philippines advice.

I have been two times now on photographic trips
I love Manila, and street photography there. Found similar good street stuff in Cebu City, from which you can also visit beautiful Bohol, and Davao.
Legaspi City is relaxing, and you have the volcano too.
I visited the rice terraces, hiring a car and driver/guide for convenience. Think the round trip was maybe $200 including hotel but worth it.

I would be interested to know of other good locations for a third trip I plan this May. I prefer people/street photography.

Philippines is wonderful

Get your shots (from a travel clinic)
Bring Pepto and take it before meals
I travel with a prescription of Cipro
I manage IT for a call center in Dumaguete, which is south of Manilla not to touristy but has some good diving/snorkeling.
People there and are general happy to see a tourist.

Go way up north past baguio and the mountains to the Ilocos region. Lots of interesting places to visit like Vigan.

Most areas in the Philippines are predominantly rural (farms etc.) especially those outside the big cities like manila and cebu. You might also want to check out the famous beaches like those in Boracay and in Palawan.

Pagudpud and Laoag get my vote. I love Ilocas Norte! Vigan is extremely special place to visit, still the old Spanish town.

Laoag

You can fly from Manila to Laoag, its about 1 hour and I recommend the Fort Ilocandia Hotel.
