Manual rangefinders with 1-2 sec exposure

What are some fixed lens manual rangefinders with manual focus, manual settings with a 1-2 second long exposure for IR.

Looking for a 40mm lens or under.
35mm would be better.

Dont want to spend a fortune either, so no Leicas etc although I have considered a Contax G1 with 28mm lens.

None that I am aware of - anything upward of a second exceeds the limits of the Copal/Compur/Prontor shutters commonly used. The relatively rare ones with aperture rather than time priority employ electronic shutters technically capable of more than a second - but all of that type that I've ever had were all-automatic. Quite a few of these, like the Olympus XA and the Yashica Electro series, do low light AE with exposure times up to 10s or beyond.
 
The later Zorkis and FEDs will give a delayed time when set to 'B' and triggered with the selftimer. How consistent this actually is I am not sure, but it seems to be about four seconds on my Zorki-4, which I just checked for you.

You can use a cable-release, and 'B', with an accuracy of a third of a second, and for a two second exposure that is surely good enough? Don't forget to also allow for reciprocity-failure on the film.

Sounds like I need to find a manual camera with an electronic shutter.
Might just bite the bullet and get a Contax G1

Exposure will most likely be between 1/4 and 1 second most of the time.
 
If one second is enough, then every better 50's camera with a Synchro Compur will do. Use "B" and count for the rare instances where you need more than one second.

If you want interchangeable lenses, a Kodak Retina, or Voss Diax II with a 35mm lens would be obvious choices, or my personal favourite, a Werra III/IV/V/Werramatic with a 35/f2.8 Zeiss Flektogon lens. All of them should give you one second exposure.

If non-rangefinders are an option, you could try and get an old Exakta Varex SLR, which has mechanically-timed slow speeds up to 12 seconds.
 
there are quite a lot older rangefinders with 1sec exposure time, e.g kodak retina, yashica minister, agfa silette...

for longer exposures an alternative could be one of this mechanical self timers, that can be screwed into the connection for the cable release. when camera is set to bulb, some of them can be used to measure longer exposure times, too.

or cable release + stop watch. for 2sec exposures +/- 1/10sec isn't so important. mechanical shutters dont't work so exactly, either.

why has it to be a rangefinder? slr-wise u would have a lot of cheap options...
 
Surely someone designed a "self-timer" type gadget for long exposures, didn't they?
It almost seems like a no brainer considering the times when 100 film was still a pipe dream.
 
The shutter in my medium format Moskva 5 does 1 second, after that you'll need to use bulb mode.

In the 35mm world, the shutter in the Olympus 35 SP also does 1 second. Again, upwards from that you'll need to use the bulb mode. The lens' focal length is 42mm.
 
Just for interest: A Nikon F2 (mechanical SLR) can be set for a 2 second exposure by setting the selftimer to 2 seconds and the shutter speed dial to B and then holding the shutter button down until the self timer times out.
