Jumping off of todays success lets talk of the march meeting. I think a monthly meet up is a great idea.
Lets pick a Sat for march. The 3rd weekend would work great for me.....
I was thinking about some things Paul mentioned. If anyone likes we could meet a bit earlier and head down to the rail yard for a while then lunch

David: You beat me to the punch. Your idea sounds great. I'd love to have a chance to use the GA645zi at the rail yard. If we have light like we did today some nice shots would be possible. John W

Uh OH!!! I need to pay my subscription dues!!
This thread did not even show up on the RFF as a new thread--ratz!!!
In any event--David--I agree with you--monthly is great.
We could meet at Manuel's early and go to the railyard--photograph the grafitti--and then eat a big burger at Manuels.
The 19th or the 26th is fine with me.
We might also want to consider what else we might do on 16 April if not everyone is enthralled with the D'wood festival.
Can't wait to see what cameras you guys bring.
Think I'll throw in a Canon F1N this time..only weighs 150 lbs with the motor!

Sounds good to me.
I will have the Nikkormat and the Leica R4.
But I will be shooting with the M3...what else?
Oh, this thread was not around this morning but popped up this evening when I came home. Gremlins, I suppose.

surgery will determine whether i can make the march meeting. march 16 or thereabouts is when it is semi-scheduled. i'll try to firm things up this week.

Hey folks!! Did we ever decide on a March date?
Manuel's again?
How about the 19th or the 26th?
I see Dave just sent an email--maybe we can get a double whammy going...

i could have surgery as early as thursday, march 10. that would keep me in the hospital through that weekend, most likely. the 19th might be dandy after a week's recovery - if everything falls into place.

Why not Manuel's again--unless you folks from the South--further South, that is..want us to come down there.
As far as itinerary--we need to finalize the 4/16 particulars.
Like places for lunch around Piedmont Park, or near the High.
Looking forward to it!!

Manuel's is fine with me, now that I know where it is. Can't beat their Brunswick stew. 12:00 again? John

How about noon, again?
And after the meeting--I might even get up the courage to go and take some pix!
A rad new concept--maybe at the RR yard David D frequents...
We also need to firm up the activities for the 16th of April..

Manuals sounds fine at noon.
Here is an idea:
I need to go out Hwy 20 sat am to hit a new spot and i would like to go first thing in the AM; maybe be there by 8am and it is an hour drive from Atlanta.
The place is an abandon truckstop right on the highway. Here are some PICs from last week when I found it.
if anyone is interested we could meet there.
I also will have directions to the railyard near the tavern

David: Please email me the directions, too. I take it you plan to shoot there first, then go to Manuel's? Looks lie a good spot to shoot a roll of Acros or Fomapan 100 souped in Caffenol-C-M. At this point it looks like we'll have good weather. John
