Hi,
Just wanted to direct your attention to a really great workshop/photo opportunity coming up at this years Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Mardi Gras - 360 Degrees is going to be a very unique photo workshop, run by photographer Andy Levin.
For more info, please check out our website at http://www.mardigras360degress.org
And please let me know if you have any questions...

I wonder if there are any film processing facilites left in New Orleans other than maybe a few minilabs at Walgreens? I know there was a darkroom supply shop open 6-12 months ago if you bring your own hardware.
I guess this is a digital only kind of thing.

Nope, this is certainly not just a digital thing. There are a few good labs who do film processing as well as digitizing/scanning. We have a forums section on the website and we hope to list out these resources as we research them. But Andy Levin has told me about a few film processing possibilities.
Are you looking for C-41, E-6, or Black and White?
Also I should add that we will be making large prints for our sort of Salon style gallery on a rolling basis and we will be putting the images into our Digital Railroad archive and showing them off to potential buyers, so there is actually some potential to make a little of your investment back!
This of course is optional...
In the end we plan to create a book. Each photog is guaranteed at least one image in the book, which we will be shopping around to publishers after the event.
