There is a enormous international group of revisionists who seriously claim these events didn't happen. Even with photographic evidence, they are denying that this took place. Eisenhower warned and predicted this might happen.

For some folks, no proof is sufficient. I have family who died, and one who survived with a souvenir tattoo on his forearm , so it's pretty real to me.

Late adopter.
Lee Miller was another female American war photographer. A Rolleiflex shooter. Google her war photography, including liberation of the camps. Suffered from PTSD after the war, quit photography.

Never doubt man's ability for hatred and destruction.
But these photos also show man's capacity for enduring unbelievable hardships and degradation.
The human spirit is so strong. So strong that it can survive horrors such as this.
The human heart may forgive but we should never forget.

So, didn't want to start a brand new topic here, since this is about Margaret Bourke-White
This was a nice essey on her and her work.

A discussion of the Holocaust and its deniers is not political discussion but a relating of reality. The wholesale slaughter of millions of innocents is a political statement for those who committed the murders. For the rest of us it is an appalling description of the depths of bestiality to which we can descend.
I can remember as a kid seeing men in short-sleeved shirts as NYC subway strap-hangars with numbers tattooed on their arms. They are nearly all gone now. To forget, deny, overlook or diminish this horror is to only invite it back again. Remember those millions, millions. All of it and its horror is at our door ready to return should we diminish this historical fact. This is fact which is not subject to much interpretation by any objective observer. This is not trivial political discussion.

Picha, if you google "Margaret Burke White and Buchenwald" you will find quite a few pics.
Joe, IMO, this is a humanitarian/photography, NOT a "political" thread.
