Mark Hama

Well, after a few emails from Mark, that were very short.

The outcome is that unless you live in the US don't bother with Mark.

Apparently Yashica's aren't worth the postage to repair and you should just get another one that works :bang:

So my endeavour to at least get this cameras light meter working has so far fallen on it head.

So sad

Hello Rod

The meter is franly the least specialized part of the camera (as far as labor goes anyway).

Anyone with experience working on electronics can figure out what is the matter with it.
If you need a new diode maybe Hama could sell it to you. Postage for a 28gram (1oz) envelope is first class mail... under a couple bucks. You may not even need any parts.
The wires run through the Viewing lens chamber and can get pinched off by the mechanism that of opening and closing the hood.
I've seen this onlce before. Somone opened the camera to clean the mirror and pinched off the wire when putting it back to gather. I fixed my "broken" meter with a drop of solder and dexterious needlnose plier work.
You may have a very minor repair.

Is the camera working otherwise?

Thanks Andy, this is great information! Looks like I'll be doing a service and check on the old girl myself.
