I don't think that's a controversial view Paul. Lots of people think similarly (see any Parr thread on RFF, comments on the link from the OP or look at Parr's protracted route into Magnum).

I find Parr's work warm and gentle, some seem a little bemused by it and others find him patronising and cynical.

I think there is a bit of a testosterone thing going on with some Magnum photographers as well, along the lines of 'It isn't Magnum unless you're picking shrapnel out of your teeth whilst you're fixing your negatives.'

I very much doubt you were.

There are a few people who confuse lack of enthusiasm for, or dislike of, someone's images with aggression and react badly in consequence. I don't believe that should deter anyone from an honest comment.

I finally got round to dropping by last week on a detour on my way to b+h. Well worth it if you like Parr, but hurry as it ends this Wednesday.
